Cardinal  Jean Margeot in  the Cathedral St louis

On the 17th  july 2009 Cardinal Jean Margeot  passed  away in Mauritius.  Three ceremonies were held on  Sunday 19th  July to bid  farewell to Cardinal Jean Margeot, followed by a Funeral Mass at Mary Queen of Peace monument in Port Louis and concluding with the Cardinal`s entombement in the Cathedral St louis. The midday Funeral Mass was presided over by Bishop Piat joined by the Apostolic Numcio, Augustine Kasujja and others Bishops. In a telegram from Vatican the "Holy Father" expressed his profound union in prayer with the diocese of  Port louis and also with the family of the deceased and with everyone affected by his loss.  The  Governement Mauritius decided that the country  be mourning for two days 18th and 19th july.
